Age

Early Proterozoic age is determined conditionally based on the significant difference in the degree of metamorphism of the rocks compared to the overlying Riphean and Lower Paleozoic deposits. Sh.Sh.Sabdyushev, B.V.Yaskovich et al. (393) considered the age of the suite to be Middle Riphean based on its position under the Akkuduk Fm of the Riphean, A.K.Bukharin et al. (122) assigned it to the Ordovician-Silurian based on chitinozoan finds. Along the data of Z.M.Abdazimova et al. (1978f.; 1981f.), chitinozoans were found in tectonic blocks of slightly metamorphosed terrigenous rocks of the Tayman Fm, located among the development area of the Uchkuduktau Fm rocks. In the Strat. sl. (442) the suite is conditionally referred to the Proterozoic; in the monograph (165) and on the State Geol. Map-500 of Uzbekistan (460) - conditionally to the Lower Proterozoic.
